Welfare and Immigration Advice
The Iranian Association has been providing the advisory service for 30 years; the centre offers advice/information on welfare, housing, immigration and mental/physical health. The association also supports the clients in form filling and makes referral to other agencies such as solicitors, law centres and social services.
The centre does not, however, represent the clients before the courts. Instead, the clients are referred to the solicitors for legal representation and the centre can arrange interpreters for them.
Over the last decades the Iranian Association has annually been dealing with between 14,000 and 20,000 requests for information and advice on a wide range of issues such as education, citizenship, health, welfare, immigration, culture and arts.
